Le Saut Périlleux (The Perilous Leap)
Media: Styrofoam, hot wire sculpting, mixed media, pencil sketches, AI-generated concept art Dimensions: Approx. 60cm (H) x 40cm (W) x 30cm (D)
Le Saut Périlleux is a meditation on the perilous leap — what Kierkegaard called the leap of faith: stepping into the unknown without assurance. Centered on an unfinished styrofoam sculpture inspired by the Fool tarot card, it holds the weight of dreams half-built, of giving up and still continuing, and of a friend whose life, too, paused mid-sentence. In its incompletion, the work becomes whole — a quiet altar to the almosts, the not-quites, and the beautiful stories we keep building anyway.
Journey Stick
A journey stick is a traditional symbolic object used in various cultures to record and commemorate an individual's journey or experience. By employing this ancient tradition, I pay homage to the enduring spirit of my mother Jeanni and father Nev and the generations before them. A way to never forget and a dance with my word to love and cherish ancestors. This artwork transcends the boundaries of time and asks us to remember.
